Join us Tuesday nights at 6:00 PM Pacific Time for a comprehensive and engaging journey through the world of wine. Introduction to the World of Wine is a 10-class virtual series designed to both prepare students for all of the material covered in WSET Level 2 and build a strong foundation for confidently enjoying, selecting, and discussing wine. 2 hours of education each week for 8 weeks.

Whether you’re looking to deepen your personal appreciation, build confidence when ordering or buying wine, or begin (or advance) a career in the wine industry, this course provides the knowledge and structure you need.

Led live via Zoom by Taylor Mortensen, WSET Level 3 and MSc in Wine Management, this course combines academic rigor with practical, real-world application. Each session will break down complex topics into approachable, easy-to-understand lessons, while building tasting skills and industry insight along the way.

What We’ll Cover:

  • The foundations of wine: how grapes grow and wine is made

  • Key grape varieties and major wine regions of the world

  • Wine styles: still, sparkling, and fortified

  • The WSET Level 2 systematic approach to tasting

  • Food and wine pairing principles

  • Reading labels and buying wine with confidence

  • Service basics and professional industry knowledge

By the end of the 8 weeks, you’ll:

  • Understand all core WSET Level 2 theory material

  • Taste and evaluate wine with structure and clarity

  • Speak confidently about wine in both social and professional settings

  • Be prepared to pursue WSET certification (if desired)

This interactive, community-driven class is ideal for enthusiasts and aspiring professionals alike.
