2022 Tyee Estate Pinot Noir
Elegant | Estate Grown | Northwest Classic
The 2022 Tyee Estate Pinot Noir is crafted exclusively from grapes grown at the family vineyard surrounding Tyee Wine Cellars in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Planted beginning in 1974, the estate vineyard includes self rooted old vines and carefully selected Dijon and Pommard clones, all rooted in classic Willamette soils.
Aromas of raspberry and cherry rise from the glass, joined by rose petal and warm pie spice. The palate is balanced and expressive, with bright red fruit, fine texture, and a smooth, graceful finish. A blend of estate Pinot Noir blocks, including vines up to 45 years old, this wine reflects both maturity and freshness.

Tyee Wine Cellars is located on the historic Buchanan Family Century Farm, founded more than 130 years ago. Dave and Margy Buchanan planted the first winegrapes in 1974 and established the winery in 1985. Today the fourth and fifth generations steward the farm, which includes vineyards, hazelnut orchards, native woodlands, wetlands, and conservation areas.
The estate follows sustainable farming practices and helped develop the Salmon Safe agricultural standards. Cover crops are maintained year round, native riparian buffers protect nearby creeks, and vineyard inputs are kept minimal and organically focused. Winemaker Merrilee Buchanan, a fifth generation Willamette Valley farmer, oversees both the vineyard and the traditional winemaking process.
The name Tyee comes from the Northwest trade language, meaning best of the Northwest, a fitting tribute to a wine rooted deeply in land, family, and regional heritage.
